Liberian Professional Network (LPN) is a social impact initiative which mission is to connect upwardly mobile Liberians and those of Liberian heritage in the United States, Africa and around the globe, harnessing our collective talents to help restore Liberia and embolden our respective lives and common interests.

LPN serves the humanitarian and development needs of Liberia by leveraging the expertise and resources of the Liberian Diaspora and other global citizens, and institutions; working as an organizer, convener and coordinator of Liberian professionals in the Diaspora to mobilize financial, human, and material resources to develop capacity and create sustainable growth within the private sector.

Founded in 2008, LPN has become the largest network of professional Liberians globally, with over five thousand (5000) members in every continent and formal networks in New York, Washington, DC, New Jersey, Boston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Minnesota and Liberia.

Taa Wongbe

Taa Wongbe is a seasoned entrepreneur. As the co-founder of Pangean Technology, an award-winning technology company that provides communications solutions to Fortune 500 companies, his experience has covered a wide range of information technology and communications-related industries. He has also worked with numerous senior management teams on issues of technology and communications strategy, organization performance and process development. Mr. Wongbe is also the founder of the Global Alliance for Technology & Education (GATE) in Africa, a non profit that helps children in Africa learn about technology. Most recently, he founded Lunchtimedeals.com, a website that provides mobile advertisement to restaurants by delivering interactive mobile coupons to its community of users. He has consulted and served as chief architect on projects for major companies, including Deloitte & Touche, EDS, and Cisco.


Seward B. Cooper

Mr. Cooper is a humanitarian, entrepreneur and marketing expert with almost a decade of experience in the financial services industry in one of America’s largest financial institutions where he has worked since 2000 managing client relationships for one of Northern Virginia’s largest producing advisory teams. Prior to that, Mr. Cooper served as a lead account executive for a leading public relations firm in the Washington D.C.metropolitan area developing public awareness campaigns and media relations. Seward Cooper has served as an Advisor on for the Tigerlily Foundation, a breast cancer support, education and advocacy entity that has been featured in various media outlets including the Oprah Winfrey Show, Essence magazine and ABC Good Morning America. He was also a Board member of The Waterside Collaborative, Inc., a non-profit Liberian-owned foundation dedicated to empowering Liberians by advancing education, commerce and health projects. At The Waterside Collaborative, Mr. Cooper led and participated in developing key initiatives including: College Workshops, World Refugee Day commemorative programs, a Law Book Drive for the University of Liberia Louis Arthur Grimes Law School and a Petition for Liberia Drive in 2003 to bring about awareness of and peaceful intervention to resolve the civil war in Liberia during which nearly 4,500 signatures were obtained. Seward Cooper also co-founded and serves as a leader in marketing IDOA (I Dream of Africa) Entertainment, LLC, an African entertainment company that provides upscale entertainment and events that reflect Africa’s diversified cultures. Mr. Cooper was born in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, and completed his elementary and junior high school education in Monrovia, Liberia. He holds a Certificate in Entertainment & Events Marketing from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with concentration on marketing and public relations from George Mason University.

 
Mr. Cooper currently serves on the Liberian Diaspora Advisory Board and was recently appointed to serve on the Smithsonian National Museum Of African Art - African Advisory Committee. Seward is currently pursuing a Masters in Marketing Degree from the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School and is co-president of the Marketing club.

Zoe C. Thomas

Zoe was born in Monrovia, Liberia but relocated to the United States at the age of 5. As an attorney, Zoe advises clients in a variety of areas including commercial litigation and state and local government. Prior to practicing law, she worked on such issues as childhood lead poisoning in her home town of Providence, RI and child trafficking in South Africa. Zoe joined Liberian Professional Network in 2009 and launched the Boston/New England Network which has successfully hosted 3 events. Zoe was also the legal focus on the Liberian Professional Network Diaspora Policy Committee team responsible for developing the first ever Liberian Diaspora policy recommendation document that was presented to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Juris Doctorate degree from Boston University School of Law.


Tanya Debblay-Burrell

Tanya has over 15 years of global experience as an IT and Business Process professional working for a number of financial institutions including Wachovia, JP Morgan Chase, First Union and Wells Fargo delivering exceptional value to senior management in the area Data Research, Business Analysis and Project Management.  Born in United States and spent 15 years in Liberia until the war, Tanya has dedicated herself to transforming the lives of children around the globe by working for several foundations and organizations in the United States and Africa. Tanya joined LPN in 2009 and led the LPN Diaspora Policy Committee team responsible for developing the first ever Liberian Diaspora policy recommendation document that was presented to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. Tanya holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Informational Sciences at the college of Old Westbury, NY
